Chapter Chapter 19 in 45 Conversations About Behavioral Economics, 2022, pp 77-79 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The Marshmallows Test is designed to see if a person (or animal) prefers gratification now to gratification later. It goes something like: “You may choose between 5 marshmallows now and 7 marshmallows an hour later.” You pass the test if you choose to have more later. Paul Krugman says that Americans are failing the Marshmallow Test during Covid-19. What's he saying?
