Chapter Chapter 7 in Introduction to Mathematics for Economics with R, 2022, pp 531-581 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter we deal with constrained optimization. First, we will learn about optimization with equality constraints (Sect. 7.1) and then with inequality constraints. In this last case, we will focus on the Kuhn-Tucker conditions (Sect. 7.2). Examples of applications in Economics include: utility maximization problem, firm’s cost minimization problem, transportation problem, computable general equilibrium model.
