Abstract: Abstract Within the framework of the most recent economic debate and elaborating on EWCS15, this introductory chapter illustrates the rationale for the choice of autonomous work as object of the book as well as its methodological approach. Moreover, the introduction provides a short summary of the chapters included in the two sections into which the book is divided.
