Abstract: Abstract The subject of this work is two treatment groups random coefficient regression models, in which observational units receive some group-specific treatments. We provide A- and D-optimal designs (optimal group sizes) for the estimation of fixed effects and the prediction of random effects. We illustrate the obtained results by a numerical example.
