Abstract: Abstract Social entrepreneurship is a form of entrepreneurship that utilizes entrepreneurial process to create long-lasting societal change. In this chapter, we briefly outline the status quo of the social entrepreneurshipsocial entrepreneurship literature while specifically focusing on our current understanding of social entrepreneurship in the context of crisescrisis and grand challengesgrand challenges. We then look at the extant literature examining the role of social entrepreneurship in crisescrisis and how this enhances our insight into the role of social entrepreneurship for addressing societal grand challenges.
