Abstract:
Abstract In order to implement a collaborative process, it is important to create an organizational culture and climate that supports collaboration. TCOM uses an approach called ‘safe systems’ that is based on the recent work in safety science. Safety science has successfully help transform very high-risk industries such as aviation and surgical suites. Lessons learned can be applied to community-based organizations as well. Strategies are described to support an environment in which all employees of an organization feel safe to learn from both successes and mistakes.
