Reinforcement Learning as a Subfield of Machine Learning
Uwe Lorenz
Chapter 1 in Reinforcement Learning From Scratch, 2022, pp 1-13 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter deals with a behavior-oriented concept of machine learning and the classification of reinforcement learning in the field of machine learning in general. A rough overview of the different principles of machine learning is given, and it is explained how they differ from the technical approach. Subsequently, the special features of the implementation of reinforcement learning algorithms with the Java programming language are discussed.
