Abstract This controbution is a general introduction to the book. Some very basic economic concepts are recalled to stimulate the attention of the real estate professional as well as the academic on market impefections. The se imperfections in our view is something we should know, is a challenge to our way to see the reality instead of something to hide. The final part describe the general organization of the book.
