Chapter Chapter 7 in Functional Analysis Tools for Practical Use in Sciences and Engineering, 2022, pp 169-181 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Many nonlinear problems are sometimes treated as a perturbation for linear ones. Such an approach allows a simpler track, as we deal with a more familiar structure. As long as we know the latter with more details, we can migrate conclusions to those tougher ones. That is the idea which lies, for example, when we approximate a real function by its Taylor expansion restricted to the first-order term, namely by employing the Mean Value Theorem.
