Chapter Chapter 5 in Economic Microfoundations of Strategic Management, 2022, pp 99-124 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Resources have become the preferred unit of analysis in much contemporary thinking. However, resources may be understood as clusters of property rights to the multiple attributes of resources. This view lends new insight into resource heterogeneity and the role of transaction costs in shaping value creation. Thus, the property rights approach to strategy is a natural complement to the resource-based view of strategy.
