Chapter Chapter 8 in Economic Microfoundations of Strategic Management, 2022, pp 185-213 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Specialization and property rights are closely linked. When the changing division of labor implies changes to specialization, coordination problems arise and property rights need to be re-allocated. The firm is a low-cost mechanism for doing this. Thus, Coase’s analysis of the firm can be linked to the division of labor by means of the property rights lens.
