Chapter Chapter 6 in European Economic Governance, 2022, pp 147-153 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We have been following the evolution of both ideas and concrete actions that led to designing, building, and governing the European economy—beyond and along national ones. We provided a few suggestions to interpret the role of intellectual and theoretical influences, the impact of major events on the making of policy proposals, and how they interacted with one another. We have been trying to underline not only successful stories but also failures and crossroads, exposing paths taken and not taken behind the veil of dominant narratives. In the firm belief that a better understanding of also hidden and unsuccessful stories can help avoiding traps, naivete, and mistakes in the future.
