Abstract: Abstract This paper extends knowledge of family business and entrepreneurship by providing a three-model framework for transgenerational entrepreneurshipentrepreneurshiptransgenerational entrepreneurship andtransgenerationaltransgenerational entrepreneurship value creationvalue creation as moderated by governance practicesgovernancegovernance practices. We base our model on a multiple case studymultiple casemultiple case study of three Latin family business groups (FBGs) and on our own experience working with entrepreneurial FBGfamily business group (FBG)entrepreneurial FBG. When designing governance models, the fundamental question is “What must be governed?”. When the “what” is the entrepreneurial activity, variables such as the family valuesfamilyfamily values and previous entrepreneurship experience, vision regarding growth and risk, and family/ business context of the FBG will shape governance choices.
