Abstract:
Abstract My aim in this book has been to consider whether social enterprisesocial enterprise can represent an institutioninstitution which develops the virtues through internal goodsinternal goods and common goodscommon goods, consistent with MacIntyre’s philosophical work. A thorough understanding and analysis of MacIntyre’s work on practices, virtues and institutions have been essential to this process. Furthermore, his antipathy towards capitalismcapitalism has been elaborated to demonstrate the role of radical social enterpriseradical social enterprise as a viable alternative to capitalism, which, it has been argued here, is a form of institution that develops the virtues through a focus on common goods.
