Chapter Chapter 2 in Ecological Money and Finance, 2023, pp 35-58 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter delineates key economic notions of market, capitalism and organizations, using a Polanyian, Ostromian and Post-Keynesian perspective. It then delves into organizational and exchange diversity, by comparing and contrasting the contribution of capitalist corporations, state-owned firms and third sector organization to social provisioning. Finally it sheds lights on the functioning of the social economy and highlights the specific role of coops in the quest for sustainability.
