Chapter Chapter 25 in The Economics of Catalan Separatism, 2022, pp 167-170 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The ability of a city, a region or a country to attract people, skills, visitors, businesses, company headquarters and investment and, in brief, to generate employment, well-being, and quality of life for its citizens, is one of the key aims of territorial policies. Figure 25.1 shows this dynamic in terms of the attractiveness of Barcelona as a place for companies to have their headquarters. It combines real capacities with charm and appeal.
