Chapter Chapter 43 in The Economics of Catalan Separatism, 2022, pp 261-264 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract One of the most delicate questions concerning secession is about the serious consequences this would have on the financial system. Due to the juridical insecurity caused by the separatists’ attempted coup d’état of autumn 2017, banks with registered head offices in Catalonia transferred them to other regions to avoid the bankruptcy that would ensue after a run-on deposit. Since then, those banks have not returned to Catalonia and bank deposits have recovered a little. (See Chap. 33 .)
