Abstract: Abstract The withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) from the European Union (EU) could be compared to a hypothetical separation of Catalonia from the rest of Spain. ‘Catexit’ would describe the departure of Catalonia from Spain and also, therefore, from the EU.
