Abstract: Abstract From a physical point of view, Catalonia is a mosaic of coastal and mountainous areas with some inland plains. From the climatic point of view, Catalan territory can be divided into zones: coastal; pre-coastal; continental Mediterranean (central), pre-Pyrenean Mediterranean and Mediterranean Pyrenean (north) and oceanic (Arán).
