Abstract: Abstract This chapter presents the content of the book, focusing on the new issues that macroeconomists must address in the twenty-first century. The first part of the book is devoted to the new challenges raised by the digital economy and new generation innovations, to the debates on sustainable development, as well as to the discussions on super-hysteresis phenomena in macroeconomics. The second part deals with economic policy issues: fiscal and monetary policies, of course, but also the problem of the trend decline in interest rates and the role of the financial cycle.
