Abstract:
Abstract Though meaning in life is one of the indicators of positive functioning, yet scant attention is given to it in organizational context. Positive leadership attempts to facilitate realization of meaning in life for different people. The present chapter attempts to discuss different themes and obstacles in meaning in life after undertaking phenomenology study of different leaders from different fields. The study finds different themes of meaning in life like ananda or bliss, happiness and peace of mind, sense of direction, and responsibility for others’ well-being. The obstacles to meaning in life include greed, selfish behavior, worldly passions, and confinement to lower order needs. The leaders should overcome these obstacles and realize meaning in life for their spiritual unfolding as well as betterment of the organization.
