Chapter Chapter 10 in Development Delusions and Contradictions, 2023, pp 183-201 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter takes up the donor’s penchant acting in concert. This ‘herd instinct’ can be seen in the rollout of different development fashions over 60 years, in what drives the need for fads, what are some of the negative effects, and ‘innovation’ as a marker of faddism as well as a fad itself. A special look is given to the recent ‘resilience’ fashion: Is it a fad du jour or fashion of the century?
