Chapter Chapter 2 in International Labour Mobility, 2023, pp 5-18 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Remittances represent a significant source of additional income, especially in the case of dependent households. For this purpose, I tried to highlight the importance of calculating and recording them correctly by the authorities of the country of origin, especially by Romania and the Republic of Moldova, by observing the IMF methodologies. At the same time, the remittance methods used by migrants to avoid the costs related to official channels, which are increasing, are presented, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic and the military events in Ukraine, together with their advantages and disadvantages.
