Abstract: Abstract The pandemic generated by COVID-19 produced major changes in the economic and social behaviour of people and has generated countless negative effects on the global economy. Romania is one of the countries with the largest number of labour migrants in the world and faces significant issues due to the policies that encourage migration adopted over time. Therefore, in this chapter, we discuss the emergence of COVID-19 in Romania and the negative effects produced by the labour mobility before and during the pandemic in the short and medium term.
