Chapter Chapter 4 in Managing for Social Justice, 2023, pp 67-96 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Developing economies face several challenges to pursue the goal of regional development, social justice and poverty alleviation. In spite of investing huge amounts of capital and technological resources we find a general collapse of developing economies around the world, along with mounting bad loans for banks. One of the hidden factors, which is pivotal in the above framework, is the role of corporate governance in developing economies. This paper seeks to understand how corporate governance can act as a critical resource in the success of organizations and thereby in the cumulative achievement of the goals of regional development and poverty alleviation in a region.
