Abstract:
Abstract Higher education is the educational level facilitated by the successful completion of a university study program. Given the confusion that may result from the use and translation of terms from one system to another, depending on the country, we use as an explanation the fact that higher education complements secondary education, providing learning activities in specialized fields of education and aiming at learning at a high level of complexity and specialization. An immediate delimitation is necessary in the sense of understanding what is predominantly interpreted in practice, namely the distinction between tertiary education and higher (university) education. The latter is part of the first one, taking place mainly in universities and other institutes of this type, not including advanced vocational education and professional education.
