Abstract:
Abstract The relationship between higher-level education and economic growth was based on an analysis of their linkage for the period 1971–2013 for the following countries: Great Britain, Poland, Sweden, South Korea, and Romania. We used the participation rate in higher education (or as defined in the world-recognized databases of the World Bank—school enrollment ratio, tertiary—% gross) as an indicator for evaluating the changes in higher education, that is, gross domestic product per inhabitant (expressed in USD per inhabitant) as an indicator of economic growth. The choice of the five countries included in the research is justified by the investments made in education, correlated with the economic growth of these countries.
