Abstract The ideas of Friedrich Nietzsche, the nineteenth-century German philosopher famous for his assertion that “God is dead,” have influenced management theories in the West over the last century. In Thus Spoke Zarathustra, he celebrates the übermensch, or superman, destined to run the world.
