Money, Finance and Real Economy
Alain Herscovici ()
Chapter Chapter 7 in Value, Historicity, and Economic Epistemology, 2023, pp 163-184 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, I will only add that this differentiation between the real economy and the monetary (production) economy makes it necessary to redefine the economic nature of activities related to finance, as well as the role played by the banking system: in this sense, after having defined the main characteristics of the post-Keynesian approach, I will study the spillover effects that finance can exert on the productive sector and the interest rate.
