Chapter Chapter 1 in Redecentralisation, 2023, pp 1-13 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter delves into the definitions of the three interconnected concepts of centralisation, distribution and decentralisation. Emphasis is often placed on only looking at centralisation or just decentralisation without putting them into perspective. Decentralisation and distribution are also frequently conflated. Examples are provided of each concept so as to provide readers with a better way to understand them and apply them when looking at technical, political, economic and social institutions.
