Abstract: Abstract The abstract defines and explains the importance of transformational leadership. The chapter explores the nature of organizational change as episodic, abrupt, or continuous. The balance between transformations and transactions is compared to the ratio between leadership and management. Transactions are related to routines and operations as the keys to controlling an organization. The essence of the introduction is to lead up to the empirical investigation of transformational leadership and by that expressing the main issues of transformational leadership.
