Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provided perspective on future trends and developments that will have a major impact on fraud and consumer protection in the cryptocurrency space going forward. It began with a discussion of a trend of increased regulatory resources to fight fraud. Next, we discussed a similar case of Navy employee Jonathan Toebbe and his wife Diana, accused of selling classified nuclear submarine secrets in exchange for cryptocurrency payments. It also discussed, the alarming trend of North Korean-affiliated hackers stealing crypto. Finally, the chapter discussed the impact of sanctions on Tornado Cash and how this will likely impact the space.
