Abstract: Abstract Before Darwin, all Christians believed that the creation of Adam occurred around 4004 BCE, or near that time. Those numbers came from calculations in 1640 by Dr. John Lightfoot, (1602–1675), an Anglican clergyman, rabbinical scholar, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cambridge who arrived at an estimate of 4004-OCT-23 BCE, at 9 AM.
