Abstract: Abstract This chapter examines the form and nature of risk within the global systemGlobal system. This approach indicates that global riskGlobal risk is multi-scalar across the identified sub-systems. In so doing, the global system is identified as a system that is subject to complexityComplexity and concentrationConcentration risks. Dealing with systemic risk is dependent upon short-term resilience and longer-term sustainability within and across the identified sub-systems.
