Reconciling Shareholders and Society
Georges Ugeux
A chapter in Wall Street’s Assault on Democracy, 2023, pp 221-223 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Financial capitalism is in conflict with society, absolving itself of any responsibility toward it. Every member, individual, or institution has a societal responsibility and cannot escape it. Without giving up its raison d’être, the company and its shareholders must identify and assume the role they play in the society in which they operate, in their country and abroad.
