Abstract:
Abstract This chapter tests the institutional framework developed in Chap. 3 by examining the actual performance of political leaders in the management of the pandemic, the roles of public agents in executing strategies and policy guidelines, the enforcement of rules and regulations and in communications, and the role of followers, in compliance. It critically reviews the performance of 16 national political leaders in managing the pandemic, besides assessing the roles of public and private agencies as well as people and communities of a number of countries from different geographical regions of the world.
