Chapter Chapter 81 in Libertarian Autobiographies, 2023, pp 485-490 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract I begin the chapter by describing the close connection between myself and Toshio Murata, Ludwig von Mises’ Japanese student. I then recount my earliest awakening to libertarian ideas, my experience as a student in Japan, and my path to earning a CPA. I then briefly describe my novel theory of public sector accounting and its reception so far, including winning the 2004 Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants Academic Award for my first published book on the topic. The chapter concludes with a brief discussion of my involvement with different organizations promoting free market ideas in Japan such as Masaru Uchiyama's Japanese for Tax Reform (JTR) and my own Institute of Public Sector Accounting (IPSA).
