Abstract:
Abstract As a starting point regarding the economic effects of migration beyond cities, existing theoretical approaches as well as previous empirical results are presented and discussed within this chapter. Within the first subchapter, the basic concepts on the determinants of international migration are focused upon. Secondly, we present the economic theories on the impact of migration in the destination country. Finally, the main empirical results are shown and discussed, giving an overview of the state of the art.
