Chapter Chapter 3 in The Economics of Immigration Beyond the Cities, 2023, pp 51-69 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract After providing a differentiation of the urban-rural divide, this chapter theoretically discusses the attractiveness of non-metropolitan regions for migration. Based on the existing literature, it provides an overview of the available empirical evidence on migration to regions beyond cities. Subsequently, the effects of migration are discussed from a spatial point of view, and an analytical framework and the leading research questions deriving from the literature are outlined.
