Chapter Chapter 5 in Co-Evolution of Symbolic Species in the Financial Market, 2023, pp 173-238 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The chapter’s goal is to demonstrate that preference, as objectification of belief (or, according to the authors, of proference), verifies the sufficiency predicates of a symbolic species. To that end, the full mechanism of standard evolution is applied to the concept of preference in order to validate its symbolic species statute. The following step is to identify and elucidate the logical structure of the preference, namely the triad: hardcore component, functional component, and deliberative component, and to discuss the phenomena of robustness and resilience in relation to the preference on these foundations. By introducing some thresholds and plasticity properties of the preference, each component of the evolutive statute of preference is given a quite analytically deep examination.
