Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores the questions: How does one truly apply diversity in practice? How does one talk about diversity exclusive of the actual application of diversity in practice? What is the applicable evidence of diversity success? There have been three paradigms that have guided most diversity initiatives: (1) The discrimination-and-fairness paradigm, (2) The access-and-legitimacy paradigm, and (3) The learning-and-effectiveness paradigm. This chapter suggests the DQ paradigm to The DQ Paradigmhelp resolve the diversity management issue by having leaders assess whether they need to change themselves, through knowledge, education and training, and behavior so that they are capable of changing diversity initiatives.
