Chapter Chapter 20 in Integral Methods in Science and Engineering, 2023, pp 239-254 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Water-alternating-gas (WAG) injection is an effective method for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), which combines the macroscopic and microscopic displacement efficiency of water and gas flooding. In this work, compositional multiphase flow equations are formulated to represent the physical phenomenon. Analytical solutions for the Riemann problem (constant initial and boundary conditions) are developed.
