Abstract: Abstract Jan de Leeuw, emeritus professor of statistics at UCLA, was president of the Psychometric Society in 1987. Jan de Leeuw finished his Ph.D. under the supervision of John van de Geer in 1969 at Leiden University. His expertise lies in applied statistics, data analysis, and multidimensional scaling.
