Chapter Chapter 6 in Fuzzy Optimization, Decision-making and Operations Research, 2023, pp 111-133 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Fuzzy logic is a very powerful tool to handle nonrandom uncertain problems. On the other hand, in project management, many issues are uncertain, particularly the time duration to complete an activity. It is very difficult to estimate the exact completion time of an activity, i.e., total completion time of a project. It happens due to the lack of material available in time, availability of labor, etc. So, in this chapter, an activity’s time duration is assumed as a triangular fuzzy number (TFN). By considering the TFN as the weight of an activity, the possible completion time of a project is determined using the network analysis technique. An algorithm is designed to find such time. An example also illustrates the algorithm.
