Chapter 3 in Neo Strategic Management, 2023, pp 15-42 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Several emerging technologies will shape the strategic behavior of tomorrow. Prime among those is artificial intelligence (AI) and data sciences. The artificial intelligence concept is complex. Scope and content could vary according to the context and the ultimate goal of the discussion. Definitions, therefore, could spell out a variety of elements and a plethora of shadow concepts. This author has attempted to pierce through this fog by drawing systems, capabilities, and time frameworks for the concept. Data sciences are another advanced technology with far-reaching impact. It connotes resort to data to address a myriad of managerial issues and problems. It covers a wide area from a definition of data to segmentation of data, analysis of data, and drawing conclusions from data. There is also the issue of data gathering and data treatment before any processing. And the resort to software as machine learning and deep learning in the course of events. Other emerging technologies as Internet of Things (IoT) will have their impact as well.
