Chapter 5 in Humanizing the Digital Economy, 2023, pp 125-137 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This wrap-up chapter stresses the wide overlap in psychological needs of ideologues and suggests common ground is there. The key takeaways are as follows: they all believe democratic institutions are important, they all believe that a unifying national culture counts, and they all believe in the importance of personal motivation to succeed in life as crucial for societal health. They are like religious denominations of a common religion. Small differences in interpretation of core beliefs can lead to large differences in policies and practices. Nonetheless, there is room for reconciliation when all of them have the same basic vocabulary and reference texts.
