Abstract:
Abstract Investments in water and agriculture are recognized as a major strategy for poverty reduction. Irrigation has a value added in agricultural production chains, and its use of water creates rivalry and social exclusion among sectors suffering from climate change. This chapter unveils business models that work for access to “irrigated agricultureagriculture credits” in the rural poor Northern Ghana. It comes out with an innovative model for “Community Empowerment, Savings and Credit Associations”Community Empowerment, Savings and Credit Associations (CESCAs).
