Abstract:
Abstract Human Resource Development (HRD) scholars, professionals, and practitioners have unique expertise that can be integrated with the expertise of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), diversity intelligence (DQ), and ethics scholars, professionals, and practitioners who understand DEI, DQ, and ethics history and concepts. Understanding how to merge DEI, DQ, and ethics expertise with the expertise that HRD scholars, professionals, and practitioners use to develop workers can help HRD, DEI, DQ, and ethics professionals and practitioners as they develop ways to integrate DEI, DQ, and ethics throughout organizations to complete tasks that are essential to employees’ success. The expertise of some DEI professionals is often not ethically examined nor is the expertise of some ethics and HRD professionals examined for DEI proficiency. DQ is one way to ensure that DEI, ethics, and HRD scholars, professionals, and practitioners have the capability to integrate DEI and ethics strategies within organizations. The human resource expertise of HRD professionals when coupled with DQ can alleviate some DEI and ethics concerns within organizations. Understanding some aspects of economic theory and closing the gap between HRD, ethics, and DEI will be the focus of this chapter.
