Chapter Chapter 5 in Trust and European-Russian Energy Relations, 2023, pp 101-120 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter overviews the findings of the cases, identifies areas for further research and provides policy implications and recommendations for European energy security. Additionally, the chapter addresses dimensions of European-Russian energy relations not covered in the book that could impact European-Russian relations in the future. These would include the role of the EU, the Russia-Ukraine war, Europe’s energy transition, sanctions, Russia’s ‘pivot to the east’, development of LNG infrastructure and the effects of oil prices on Russia’s economy.
