Chapter Chapter 10 in Tree Balance Indices, 2023, pp 107-117 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter,we consider the 𝑩1 index, which is defined as the sum of the reciprocal of the heights of the subtrees rooted at the inner vertices (except the root) of an arbitrary rooted tree. The name 𝑩1 stems from the fact that it was the first balance index that Shao and Sokal [137] introduced in their paper.
